Why Does CrossFit Include Gymnastics?

What is it?

Gymnastics is a fundamental component that encompasses various forms of bodyweight exercises and movements. Exercises such as handstands, cartwheels and flips are combined with other bodyweight movements like pull-ups, muscle-ups and ring dips. These exercises focus on developing strength, flexibility, balance and coordination. CrossFit also includes skill-based movements such as handstand push-ups, kipping pull-ups and toes-to-bar, which challenge athletes to master complex bodyweight techniques. The incorporation of gymnastics elements adds a dynamic and challenging aspect to workouts, promoting overall athleticism and functional movement.
